‘form + gesture’ is a time-based media project that utilizes two iconic chairs to visualize the dichotomy between form and gesture. Geritt Rietveld's Red/Blue Chair (representing 'form') and Frank Gehry's Wiggle Chair (representing 'gesture') are paired in a two video animations which follow strict time-based intervals, such as doubling, tripling, quadrupling, following set timed patterns, and reversing. The chairs are segmentally built, and dismantled to varying medium (pencil, charcoal, ink, paint, vector graphics) to outline each component and to clarify the the difference between ‘form + gesture.’
